    UPS / FedEx Rate Change Troubleshooting

    If you are experiencing difficulty in installing your Rate Pak, please refer to the following list. Click on any problem to view the recommended solution.

    1. The scale does not power up and I just put in the new Rate Pak.

    Power off the scale. Remove the Pak. Reinstall the old or original Pak. Power on. This should confirm the working operation of the scale. At this point power off the scale, remove the Pak, reinstall the new Pak and power on. The scale should now be working. In the unlikely event the scale is not working, please contact us, at 1-800-934-2257, for a cartridge replacement.

    2. After I changed the chip on the SE37/57, the scale reads "Unstable".

    Remove the top of the scale, look underneath the top and locate the panel that has the word "Front" with an arrow. Verify that it is installed towards the Keyboard of the scale.

    3. The scale is just beeping at me.

    The Rate Pak replacement may be malfunctioning and a replacement should be ordered. Please contact us at 1-800-934-2257 for a Rate Pak replacement.

    4. The scale has been showing "warm up" for quite some time, how do I clear this?

    Unplug the scale from the wall socket. Wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. This should correct the anomaly.

    5. The mailing machine displays "INSERT CARD" even though I have the rate memory card in the slot.

    Press firmly on the card to fully insert it in the slot and try again. Occasionally the label on the rate card will catch on the slot entrance and prevent the card from going all the way in.
